Return to school details

Dear Bus Families,
We hope you have all enjoyed a nice summer break and are ready to return to school tomorrow!
Just a couple of reminders if you will be using the bus to get to and from school, please remember to send in your 2022 bus registration forms through the website https://pukekoheeastschoolbus.org/register/
The bus will be departing at an earlier time of 2.50pm during the Covid-19 alert level red. This will make afternoon drops offs approximately 20 minutes earlier. There is no change to the morning run.
And a reminder that all children are required to wear a face mask on the bus.
Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

Bus Operation – Return to school

Hi Everyone,

It was great to hear from Merillees today that our children can get back to school this week.

We will be operating the bus from Wednesday as normal along with two key changes:

  • All children are required to wear a mask on the bus
  • The bus will leave school at 2:30pm. There is no change to pick up times or the route but drop offs will be 30 minutes earlier.

I’m delighted to announce we have a new bus driver, Stuart Craig, who will be driving the bus from Wednesday.  Stuart is a Pukekohe local who is looking forward to driving the school bus around the area he has always called home. Please be sure to say hi to Stuart when you get the chance.

We’re looking forward to having the bus up and running and transporting our kids to school. Please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards, Nicola Payne

Message from the Bus Society

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all faring well during Level 3?

As we head into Term 4 I’d like to share some news. Amanda will no longer be driving our bus. She has chosen to step down from her role at the end of October. We wish her well for the future.

Wallace has decided to step down as our back up driver from the beginning of the next school year and enjoy some traveling of his own. We would like to thank Wallace for his continued support to the Society. Feedback from the children is that Wallace always makes the journeys fun and he has a smile for everyone. We will be sad to see him go but hope he enjoys his future plans.

We are now looking for replacements for both our permanent driver and for a back up driver. If you know anyone who might be interested in either, please get in touch.

Obviously under Level 3 we are not operating the bus. There is uncertainty as to when the school will be fully open and therefore the bus being back up and running. As we are a not-for-profit organisation that relies on our fundraising efforts to operate we would be extremely grateful if you are able to continue to support the Bus Society. However, we appreciate this time can be difficult for people and if you need to contact us regarding bus subscription fees please do.

I hope everyone stays safe and we see our bus out and about picking children up soon.
Kind Regards
Nicola Payne – Chair, Pukekohe East School Bus Society
