Free Shuttle from School to Taste Franklin Festival

Pukekohe East School’s Farmer Jock Bus has been hired as the official shuttle for the Taste Franklin Festival taking place this coming Saturday 21st March from 11am to 6pm at Karaka Sports Park (corner of Linwood Rd and Blackbridge Rd).

The Taste Franklin Festival is an event to showcase and savour the great foods and beverages produced in the Franklin region. Ideal for foodies and families. Enjoy local produce, brews and wines, restaurant dishes, live music, kids entertainment, with celebrity chefs and more. Festival tickets can be purchased on the day at the gate. Kids are free and welcome to attend with a supervising adult.

Our school bus is contracted as the complimentary shuttle service for the community. Festival-goers in Pukekohe, Patumahoe, Waiuku and Karaka can catch a free ride to the event and back.

School families are welcome to jump aboard the bus at Pukekohe East School. The bus departs school on Saturday at 10.30am arriving at the festival 11am, and returns to school approximately 6pm.

The Pukekohe East School Bus Society would like to thank Searle Group for its sponsorship to enable the Taste Franklin Festival organisers to employ our bus as their official shuttle.

You’re Invited! Bus Society AGM

Calling all bus parents. Please come to the Pukekohe East School Bus Society AGM on Monday night, 23rd February, at 7pm in the school hall.

We’ll quickly cover how the bus society operates. Then we’ll vote for a new executive team, and bounce around ideas for bus trip fundraisers.

We’re the only school in New Zealand fortunate to have our own cooperatively-owned school bus. Our school bus gets no government funding.

Nearly seventy kids use the bus to get to or from school. If your children are using the bus please come to the meeting to show your support for our unique bus service and the parent volunteers who keep it going.

Bus society meetings are fun. They are a great way to meet other parents and everyone welcomes new ideas. We hope to see lots of new faces on Monday night.
