Term 2 2026 | Bus Society Update

Bus Timetable/Route for Term 2
The school bus service will commence on Monday 20 April for the start of Term 2.

Unfortunately the Cape Hill Roadworks is still in progress so we will stick to the current route as per our website for the first week of term 2: https://pukekoheeastschoolbus.org/route/

We will notify bus families towards the end of the first week if we are able to revert back to the original timetable/route.

Tickets on sale now: Annual fundraiser (23 May)
This year is the Bus Society’s 80th anniversary and we are hosting our annual fundraiser on Saturday 23 May! You can read more about our wonderful 80th anniversary in the Franklin Times

Bus families have been sent a discount code to use towards early bird tickets (for bus families only towards a max of 2 tickets and for a limited time so use this code before 1 May). Early bird tickets are available for a limited time too.

If you’d like to help out with the event or have items to donate for a raffle / silent auction, please contact us: admin@pukekoheeastschoolbus.org

Easter raffle success
Thanks to everyone who sold tickets for the Easter raffle – we were thrilled with the yummy treats and donations (there were some cute easter bunny figurines etc.). The total raised was $2,550! Every cent goes towards keeping our bus fees as low as possible and to help with bus operations so thanks for all the mahi.

Bakers Delight hot cross buns
Thanks to everyone who popped into Bakers Delight Pukekohe last term to purchase hot cross buns. The store donated $140 from the sale of 47x six packs of hot cross buns!

2026 Bus Fees
Thanks to those who have already paid their bus fees for the year or have set up their monthly payments. Now is the time to set up automatic payments if you haven’t already (with the last payment scheduled for 1 Dec 2026).

Reminder | AGM | Mon 16 Feb

📣 Reminder📣

Annual General Meeting – all bus families welcome

Monday 16th February 2026, 7pm – 8pm

@ Pukekohe East School

We would love to see as many bus families as possible attend the Pukekohe East School Bus Society AGM.

Our Society has a proud history of running a dedicated school bus since 1946 – which makes this year the 80th Anniversary! It is one of only two school bus services run in this way across the country. Over many years the bus has provided a great service taking children to and from school along with many school events.

The agenda includes:

✔️Recap of minutes from last year’s AGM

✔️Chairperson’s Annual Report

✔️Statement of Accounts and Treasurer’s Annual Report

✔️Voting and re-election of committee members: Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Treasurer and Secretary

✔️Ratify Bus Society as part of 2022 Incorporated Societies Act

✔️Update on bus operations and fundraising

✔️Future plans

✔️Encouraging more society members to join

✔️General business

The Society has a wonderful group of dedicated parents on the committee and members that are very keen to keep our bus service running – but we need your help. Come to the AGM to hear more!

Term 1 2026| Bus Society Update

2026 Invoices
We will send these w/c 26 January so please keep an eye on your inbox! Payments can be made monthly (10 installments) or fees can be paid in full.

Revised bus route and timetable for Term 1 (Cape Hill roadworks)
The school bus service will commence on Wednesday 4 February for the first day back at school.

Note we have revised the timetable and route due to the Cape Hill roadworks and to account for some of the steep hills in Pukekohe which we avoided with the original route. Angely and Stuart will have a better idea of the timings when school is underway so we will adjust the timetable accordingly. Any questions please reach out to Angely: 021303403

We have also added the Revive Church carpark as a bus stop! Check out the revised route: https://pukekoheeastschoolbus.org/route/

The Cape Hill roadworks are slated to be finished at the end of March so we will revert to the original route as soon as they’re finished.

Christmas raffle success
Thanks to everyone who helped to raise money with the Christmas raffle. The total raised was just over $3,000! Every cent goes towards keeping our bus fares as low as possible and to help with bus operations so thanks for all the mahi.

Approved grant applications
We are pleased to be recipients of the following grants (and we have more to submit! If you’d like to help out with grant applications, please contact angely.cullerne@gmail.com):

  • Community Organisation Grants Scheme (Community Matters) to go towards adding more Farmer Jock cartoon artwork to the exterior or the bus.
  • Four Winds Foundation to go towards bus driver wages.

Save the date: Annual General Meeting (16 February)
Our AGM is scheduled on 16 February, 7pm at school. We welcome all bus families to attend to learn more about operations, nominate/vote committee members and to suggest any ideas for fundraising.  We also welcome more members of the Bus Society to help our small group of parents in the committee.  Hope to see you there!

Heads up: Easter Raffle (end of Term 1)
The Easter raffle is our first fundraiser for the year and more info will be shared during Term 1 (we will lock in a date for a Casual Dress day for easter treat donations in lieu of a gold coin! Raffle winners will be drawn in the last week of term 1). We will also run a hot cross buns fundraiser so stay tuned for more info!
