School Bus Route Review for 2016

This term the school bus route is being reviewed by the bus society executive to determine the optimum school bus route for 2016.

Families move in and out of the area throughout the year and the 2016 school bus route will be based on anticipated demand, parent and driver feedback, and distance/cost factors.

A change to the bus timetable can have a large effect on families with work commitments and after school activities. If you depend on the bus, it’s important that you participate in the bus route review process.

We urge all bus families, and families interested in using the bus, to get involved in the bus route review process; the earlier the better using the feedback form that was sent home today.

Please submit your views on the current bus route even if you want the route to remain the same. Please return your feedback form to the school office by Friday 23 October, or you may prefer to complete the form online here.

You’ll have further opportunity to give feedback at the Bus Route Review Meeting on 16th November. Read more>

Help! We need a Casual Driver

We’re still on the lookout for a casual bus driver for daytime school trips. Ideally this person would have ties to the school community; be a parent, grandparent, relative, or friend of a friend. Fabulous opportunity to accompany your child on school excursions and be paid for your time.

To drive the school bus you must hold a Class 2 license with P endorsement and be able to drive manual. The Bus Society will fund your P endorsement if required.

Please see Gail in the school office if you or someone you know is interested in joining our fantastic team of bus drivers.

Seeking One More Advertiser

An advertising space has become available on Pukekohe East School’s eye-catching Farmer Jock Bus. This spot would best suit a square or stacked logo.

The cost to have your business logo on the side of the school bus is just $400 +gst for 12 months. Your advertising dollars will go to a good cause in keeping the bus operating for the kids of Pukekohe East.

Our cartoon-decorated Farmer Jock school bus is a moving billboard and you’ll get great brand exposure. To advertise on the school bus please email Sally or ph 021 239 1244.

Flock together to fund Totara Courtyard

There’s still time to sponsor your beautiful native bird sculpture for the redesigned Totara Courtyard at Pukekohe East School.

Each bird costs $50 and is crafted from quality corten steel by respected local sculptor James Wright. The birds collectively will form an artistic flock and beautify the courtyard.

Importantly, by sponsoring a bird you’ll be helping to fund the courtyard makeover.

Your child’s name or family name can be engraved at the base of the bird as a lasting reminder of your time at Pukekohe East School. Picture your grown-up kids visiting their bird long after they have flown the nest.

Nativebirds

Choose from Fantails, Kingfishers, Tuis and Kererus. Don’t miss out on this special win-win opportunity to help the school and create a family legacy.
