Jericho Bus Stop Project

Jericho Road families have been hard at work extending their bus stop at each end of the culvert pipe to allow more turning room for our drivers to back in and turn out of the turning bay. The project involved a number of people, many hours, and all materials were donated. Special thanks to:

  • Andrew Tomkins from Lincom Group NZ for assisting and supplying the extra metal
  • Dennis Loxton for supplying the extra pipe
  • Grant van der Vegte for supplying Bobcat, trailer and labour installing it
  • Martin Parahini for getting his spade out to assist

Well done to the Jericho Rd families. We all need to take responsibility for our respective bus stops to ensure the bus can pull in and out easily and safely. For example, trimming any overhanging branches, allowing at least 20 metres parking distance from the bus stop, and not parking directly opposite the bus stop.

Easter Raffle Fabulous Result

The Bus Society Easter Raffle raised $2,175 in raffle ticket sales. The money raised will be put to good use including new front tyres for the school bus.

Thank you everyone for donating hamper items and selling your raffle tickets, and thanks to Lisa and Gail for organising the raffle.

Hopping Good Time on School Bus

The Easter Bunny was sighted today driving the school bus and the lucky children on board have Easter goodie bags to prove it.

The Easter-themed bus ride was 100% Gail’s doing. Gail decorated the bus, made the goodie bags (hours of her own time) and donned bunny ears for the kids’ enjoyment.

Gail, a BIG THANKS from the Bus Society. Thank you for treating our kids to a very special fun bus ride. They had a hopping good time!

On Mother’s Day, Sunday 10th May, our school bus is heading to Singin’ in the Rain at the Civic Theatre, downtown Auckland. There’s room for you on board to experience this world-class musical coming to New Zealand.

Pukekohe Travel has secured great seats and is offering a combined show and coach package for $115 pp. Our school bus being the mode of transport and departing Pukekohe at 11.30am for a 1pm matinee show.

Great timing as a Mother’s Day present. Get a group of mums together or treat Grandma. Children welcome.

We are grateful to Pukekohe Travel for contracting our school bus. The bus portion of the ticket price is going to the Pukekohe East School Bus Society to help fund the school bus service.
