Seeking helpers for Lynda Hallinan’s Garden Tour Dinner

Gardening guru Lynda Hallinan kindly offered a group twilight garden tour and ‘plot to plate’ dinner at her home in Hunua for a lucky bidder at our Bus Society Bus Bash event fundraiser. This special garden tour event is happening on Friday 5th December from 6pm.  We may need a few people to help Lynda on the evening to serve dinner. Any volunteers please contact Jenny Walter on jennywalter@outlook.com. It will be fun helping out and Lynda’s garden is gorgeous.

Bus Route Review for 2015

This term the school bus route is being reviewed by the bus society executive to determine the optimum school bus route for 2015.

Families move in and out of the area throughout the year and the 2015 school bus route will be based on anticipated demand, parent and driver feedback, and distance/cost factors.

A change to the bus timetable can have a large effect on families with work commitments and after-school activities. If you depend on the bus, it’s important that you participate in the bus route review process.

We urge all bus families, and families interested in using the bus, to get involved in the bus route review process; the earlier the better using the feedback form, and please attend the Bus Route Review Meeting on 2nd December 2014 to share your views and hear from others. More>

Two strike system for onboard behaviour

As a result of yesterday’s incident, the Bus Society Executive is instigating a two strike system to help our bus drivers maintain appropriate onboard behaviour. It takes effect from today.

Two strikes and you’re off the bus
A child who misbehaves on the bus is issued a ‘first strike’ warning by the bus driver. Strikes are at the discretion of the driver, whose primary concern is the safety of the children on board. If the child is deemed to have misbehaved a second time, they shall be suspended from using the bus for a week. The child’s parents will be notified of incidents and strikes by the Bus Society Executive.
