Pukekohe East School Farewells Bus Driver Judy Shutt after 30 Years Service

After 30 years of faithful service driving our school bus, Judy Shutt has decided it’s time to retire in June. We are seeking a new driver, ideally someone connected to the school community with HT and passenger licenses. If they don’t hold these licenses we could help fund their applications. Bus Driver Job Description
Hours are Monday to Friday during term time, from 8am to 9am in the morning, and again in the afternoon from 3pm to 4pm. In addition to these regular hours, the bus transports children on classroom day trips, sports days, and to school camps. It would be possible to job share with another driver. For example one person might work mornings and the other in the afternoons, or they might work alternate days.
We have window spaces available to promote businesses. These side windows are $400 + GST per year. A great way to advertise your business.
At the AGM on Monday 15th April it was decided to make the new bus route through Newsham Park permanent. The bus timetable remains the same as the trial period.
We are very lucky to have Graeme McNeil carry out the bus maintenance as required, and also undertake regular maintenance servicing and COF requirements in the school holidays. Graeme is happy to continue for now but would like to train someone who could take over his maintenance responsibilities in the near future.
