Laugh Yourself Silly for a Good Cause

PRESS RELEASE
Comedy Hypnotist Dave Upfold coming to Pukekohe East
~ Laugh yourself silly for the kids of Pukekohe East School ~

Pukekohe, New Zealand – July 11, 2016 – World-renowned comedy stage hypnotist Dave Upfold is delivering a night of hilarity on Friday 12th August at Pukekohe East Hall. Proceeds will go to the operational funding of Pukekohe East School’s Farmer Jock Bus, the only remaining cooperatively-owned school bus service in New Zealand, celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.

As seen on TV3’s Campbell Live programme, Dave Upfold is known for his energetic, engaging and enthralling live hypnosis shows. Dave’s shows feature audience participation and utilise the power of the mind and suggestion. With no two shows ever being the same, Dave has been entertaining audiences around the world for 20 years.

Tickets cost $40 per person, and include a light supper. Beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.

Funds raised from Dave Upfold’s hilarious show will help keep the school bus wheels turning. The Pukekohe East School Bus was the first and is now the only cooperatively-owned school bus still operating in New Zealand, tracing its origins back to 1946. Bus models have changed rather a lot over the past 70 years. Today the Pukekohe East School Bus is adorned with David Henshaw’s Farmer Jock cartoon characters, and the school bus is fondly nicknamed The Farmer Jock Bus.

Pukekohe East School’s bus service receives no government funding. It’s 100% community-funded and relies on fundraising and sponsorship dollars. Loyal supporters of the Pukekohe East School Bus include Searle Group (major sponsor), Ansell Builders, Auckland Concrete Cutters, Continuous Spouting, Doppel, ExportX, Farmers, Franklin Silver Lining Trust, Franklin Vets, Glassways, PaperPlus, Pukekohe Travel, Kinetic Electrical, McConnell Stafford-Bush, NZ Hothouse, Oceania Helicopters, Total Span, and The Playhouse Preschool.

Dave Upfold’s comedy hypnosis show is open to the public. Sally Grey, Deputy Chairperson of the Pukekohe East School Bus Society said, “We hope the wider community will buy tickets to laugh their socks off in support of Pukekohe East School’s one-of-a-kind bus service. The more people, the more fun and more funds raised. It will be a fabulous side-splitting show to support a much-loved community bus, a piece of New Zealand’s history.”

Tickets can be purchased from Pukekohe Travel (89 King Street, Pukekohe) or online at eventfinda.co.nz. Search for ‘Dave Upfold’.
